Dunreath Boys’ Club

 

Aims

To provide a varied activity-based programme of informal eduation with opportunities for personal development within a friendly environment.

To foster a family atmosphere within the Club to help boys aged 10 to 14 acquire an attitude of respect, understanding and service towards the others.

Objectives

To provide regular core weekend activity programme for:

   Juniors (10-12): cultural, creative (including graphic arts) and sporting activities

   Seniors (13-15): creative (graphic arts), personal development, team sports and social outreach activities

To encourage the involvement of parents in the running of the club through a Parents’ Committee.

To bring together families of various club members through various activities for the whole family.

To make these services available to other youth groups and schools in order to complement or support their own programmes.

 

Activities (see This term’s activities)

The Boys Club currently operates on Saturday afternoons from 2.30 to 5.30 pm for the Juniors, and on Friday evenings from 4.15 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. for the Seniors.

There is a wide range of activities including quizzes, sports,excursions, with a weekly talk on some aspect of human or Christian development.

Dunreath Boys Club is a member of the Scottish Association of Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs.

A yearly subscription for both the Club and the Study Centre, and various forms of sponsorhip and family rates are available for those who find it difficult to meet the financial commitment. The subscription is due one month after first attending and new members are always welcome
